Sheep shearer is the stepping stone quest in runescape, located right outside lumbridge, where you begin the game, it is often one of the first quests a player will attempt, as such it is also the easiest quest in the entire game.

The quest can be broken into three main sections, all of which are incredibly simple. To make the quest more easy to complete, stop by the bank, located on top of lumbridge castle, and empty your entire inventory, all you need for this quest are twenty empty slots in your bag, and you are good to go.

1. Now that you have a completely empty bag, follow the road out of the castle north-west until you see a blue and white star on your mini map, this star marks the location where you begin the quest, enter the house and talk to the farmer. He will tell you get him 20 balls of wool, after you accept the quest, grab the pair of shears off his table, you will be needing these.

2. Now that you have the shears, head out into the big sheep pen outside his house. Begin right-clicking on the sheep and selecting the shear option, sometimes the sheep will get away from you, but most of the time you will succed, and get wool. Do this 20 times and make sure you are shearing different sheep, you can only shear a sheep once then you need to wait for its fur to grow back.

3. Once you have your twenty sheep wools, head back to the castle. The is a room on the second floor that contains a spinning wheel, click the wheel then when it asks you what you want to make, right click on the ball of wool and select, make all. This will make all of your wool into balls of wool.

Wala! Now you have twenty balls of wool to bring back to the good farmer, he will pay you well for your work, and you will also receive some crafting experience.

There are also two other alternative ways to complete this quest, if you know a bit more about the game, and you don't want to shear the sheep yourself. You can A) Buy the balls of wool off other players at a bank or B) Buy the balls of wool in the grand exchange. Both of these are good options if you have the money and just want an easy quest point, but you most likely will not make your money back from the small reward given by the farmer for completing the quest.
