Poetry: The water's edge
The waters edge
Down at the water's edge,
Where the cattails sway,
And the dragonflies hover,
Searching for their prey,
Willows

The Rhythm of Time
Breeze-stirred waves lap
against The Mississippi's shoreline
next to me in a steady rhythm
as I follow shadows
Gentle spirit, calmed by waters edge.
Sitting silent, steady stone,
Inner turmoil from soul to bone.
Calm blue sky,
It's a dark night
The crickets chirp me songs of misery
As the moons pale light casts reflections of my sins upon the waters
We sat beside the water's edge,
holding each other tight,
holding on for dear life.
No need for words,
only two
