SHADOWS
We live in a world of contrasts.
The brighter the light, the deeper the shadow.
The sun shines and the shadows make patterns on the ground.
The clouds darken and the shadows blend into the grey.
Just like life,
The greyer the light, the more the pain merges into the darkness.
The brighter the light, the sharper the shadows, the harder it is to hide.
You bask in the joy of the sun but the shadows are always there.
When the wound is raw, the grey is everywhere.
The pain darkens your life and the shadows dominate the light.
As time moves on, the light gradually lightens the heart and the shadows become less painful.
As the years go by, the light becomes a joy again and the shadow patterns take on a beauty once more.
The grey of the clouds remind us that although we cannot see them, the shadows are still there but have blended into the fabric of our lives.

Shadows of the night
Somewhere in a distant dream,
stood two shadows of the night.
At the edge of split perception,
being bathed
Absent light
Stains on a wall
Take human form
But twist, Distort
They move and dance
But have no life
Hollow imposters
Shadows in the Night
Shadows haunting in the night.
Playing games in the moonlight.
Keeping all the shapes I see
Deep within
As I gaze into the light of night
Shadows emerge upon my sight
Some bring thoughts of sheer delight
Some are scary in gruesome

Shadow Tag - A Childhood Memory
Whispers of footsteps cross my grassy path,
As I kneel in the shadows in the full moonlight.
