Are fast food restaurants like McDonald's and Burger King on the way out?

Convenience is something that many most individuals crave. Whether it is the ability to send an email from a cell phone, purchasing insurance without the need to leave home, or satisfy hunger without stepping foot out of the car.

As long as there is a demand for fast food restaurants, such as Burger King and McDonald's, they will not be endangered of being on the way out. Fast food restaurants utilize marketing strategies as a method of enticing consumers and fitting their products into various lifestyles.

Many fast food restaurants offer items that appeal to every individual. The menu consists of a wide variety of foods and beverages. A delectable array of coffees, cappuccinos, and mochas add convenience for those looking for a quick pick me up. Kid's meals are available for the busy parent that is looking to feed their family with foods that their children will love. Breakfast foods are offered to aid in the convenience of a hectic morning schedule. Not to mention the assortment of foods accessible for lunch, dinner, and snack options.

Fast food restaurants adapt to society's fads which continue to make them a popular choice. When the low carbohydrate craze became increasingly popular, many fast food restaurants made additions to their menu in order to satisfy these needs.

Next, consumers became increasingly aware of caloric intake and fat consumption. In order to maintain their competitive advantage, fast food restaurants began to alter their menu and provide healthy choices. Salad options began to increase and the nutritional value could be found on each container of food as a means of meeting society's needs.

With the state the economy is in, consumers have begun to make more financially reasonable decisions. This has proven to be a setback for many businesses. However, fast food restaurants have once again redirected their focus and have managed to keep the needs of their target market in mind. Value prices are now offered as well as dollar menus. This allows consumers the option of purchasing fast food for prices that are affordable. The value prices enable the luxury of fast food to still remain and option while putting less of a burden on the consumer's budget.

As long as fast food restaurants, such as Burger King and McDonalds, provide a convenient option, they will always be around. Drive-through service, inside seating, quickly cooked meals, and child friendly menus remain a popular choice for many individuals as well as families. With well thought out marketing tactics and accommodating menu items, fast food restaurants are not in jeopardy of being on the way out.
