LILLIE, A FISH OUT OF WATER

Lillie was a fish who loved to play.

She especially loved to play hide-and-seek.

One day as she was playing, she met a new friend named Willie, who happened to be a turtle.

She was very curious as to why Willie had a house on his back.

Willie told Lillie that God made him that way as a way to protect him.

Lillie thought it must be cool to have a house on top of you, so she knelt down to pray to God to see if he could make her with a house over her.

Everyday she waited about whether she would get a house like Willie, and every day that went by, she heard no answer from God.

Lillie thought to herself, God must not love me because he didn't answer my prayer.

So she decided that she must not be worthy enough for God to listen to and grant her wish, so she thought she would give up on God until one day she asked Willie why God wouldn't answer her prayer and give her a house like he had.

Willie explained to her that God did answer her prayer, he just chose to answer in a way she didn't expect.

He told her that she was a fish and that she wasn't meant for a house on her back like he was meant to have.

Lillie understood and repented to God for her behavior and asked him for her forgiveness for giving up on him.

Now Lillie and Willie play everyday in the water whenever Willie comes to see her.

A week later, Willie could not find Lillie.

He searched around rocks, and he even swam to their favorite spot.

He searched everywhere and could not find her.

Willie went inside his shell and went to sleep.

He had a dream that Lillie was eaten by a huge fish about 500 yards from their favorite spot.

He couldn't dream of losing his new best friend, so Willie swam to that spot that he saw in his dream.

Sure enough, there was Lillie, about to be eaten by a shark.

Well, Willie quickly jumped to action and bit the shark on the tail.

The shark turned around to see who had bit him.

This gave Lillie enough time to get out of the shark's way.

By the time the shark turned back to gobble his delightful treat, Lillie had hid behind the algae.

The shark was mad he had missed his chance for dinner and left the area looking for other food.

Lillie gleefully thanked Willie for saving her life and the two gave each other a hug.

Lillie asked Willie how he had known where she was.

Willie told her that he had a dream about what was about to happen.

Lillie and Willie both prayed to God to thank Him for saving Lillie.
