Your clothing choices are not the only element that can have a dramatic influence on your overall appearance. Accessories can play a large role in helping to create a nicely balanced appearance. If you are a tall and thin woman, the right accessories can be used to inject some curves and femininity into your look, whilst at the same time minimizing that gangly appearance.
Top accessories for tall and thin women
If you are tall and thin you are blessed when it comes to accessory choice. You can have loads of fun experimenting with accessory trends, because they will add interest to your boyish figure type. Consider the following tips:
Jewelry
Feel free to layer jewelry pieces like multiple necklaces. If you look for styles that finish at chest level, you can add visual curves to your bust line. Just be sure to choose fine pieces, rather than very chunky items like thick bangles. These can actually draw attention to your slenderness, because of the sharp contrast. In a nutshell look for jewelry that it proportional to your frame size, but think layers.
Shoes
If you feel like your legs resemble toothpicks rather then being shapely, shoes are a very useful accessory that can help you create curvier looking legs. Look for shoes that have round toes or multiple straps. These effectively shorten and widen the appearance of your legs. Recently popular sandal styles like cage and gladiator sandals look great on your figure type. Ankle boots are another great choice because they create a visual break in the leg, which creates a more shapely leg appearance. You are also free to wear shoes that are a different color to your body and hemline, so consider pops of color like a cute red, or yellow shoe. Steer clear of pointy toe shoes, sling backs and peep toes, because these all have a tendency to lengthen the appearance of legs.
Handbags
Try to choose medium sized handbags that sit right with your proportions. Tiny bags can highlight your height and really oversized bags can highlight you thinness. However feel free to choose bags that have lots of decoration, hardware or ornamentation to add interest.
Scarves
Scarves can be one of your best friends. Think thick and textured around the neckline, or consider threading a narrow scarf through the belt loops on your skirt, or pants to create a visual break in your height. Any horizontal line with detract from your height and add the appearance of width. Avoid long skinny scarves tied vertically because these elongate. If you want to wear a long, skinny scarf, wrap it around your neck several times to create width.
Other accessories
As a tall and thin woman you are also free to play around with belts and hosiery. Patterned tights look great on you, because they can create a more shapely leg line. Feel free to wear a different color to your shoe color or hem color. Ruched, ruffled and gathered belts can add some curves to your waistline. There is also a great range of lingerie that can help you look curvier. Push up and padded bras can add to the appearance of your chest and now you can even purchase padded bottoms that can add curves to your hips and bottom.
