Getting married in a garden is the ultimate setting for many brides. Today, more than ever, a garden decor is a beautiful "living green" statement for a couple to make. Rather than spending vast amounts of money on cut flower arrangements, creating the garden for a wedding utilizes plants and other natural elements that can be recycled.
After the ceremony, the elements used are not tossed or given away. They can be re-established in the newly married couples home, creating memories of the wedding that will last a lifetime. If you don't have the space to re-plant, another option is to rent the plants that you will be using. Many garden centers and nurseries will rent or lease the plants to you for a fraction of the price of buying them outright. Generally, the company renting the plants will deliver, place, and pick up everything for the ceremony.
Garden weddings are not limited to being held out of doors. Indoor environments can be turned into amazing scenes that bring the outdoors inside. Indoors or out, there are many ways to make your special wedding garden and stay within your budget. Follow your dream and make your wedding in the garden all that you want it to be with planning and organization and these tips.
*Garden Themes
There's a wide variety of garden themes. First, make your decision about what type of garden you would most like to have. Styles range from tropical, English, Southwestern, Asian and more. Stick with the plants that best suit your gardening zone, soil and maintenance requirements for re-planting after the wedding.
*Types of Plants
Once you've selected the type of garden, you're ready for the design phase. If it's within your budget, contact a garden designer for assistance. To keep costs of using the professional service to a minimum, book an appointment for consultation. If money is not an issue, or if you know someone who is a talented gardener, have them look at the floor plan of your site and give you some ideas about arranging the garden.
*Elements for the Wedding Garden
Realism is what the garden decor wedding work. Bring in moss, rocks, interesting lawn furniture, art, and objects. Charming birdhouses, rustic iron pieces, interesting containers all things that are in the garden are considerations. The aisle you walk down can be a path of stepping stones that lead to where the ceremony will take place.
*Arbors, Tents, Canopies, Arches
Incorporate some romance and elegance with a covered area for your ceremony. Cover poles and enhance the area with climbing vines, rose bushes, potted ficus trees covered in tiny string lights, for some visual drama.
*Seating
Your guests chairs can be tied with bows and embellished with bunches of lavender, branches, willow sprigs and twigs. Use attractive lawn chairs or refurbish old chairs in colors and styles that suit your theme.
*Table Settings and Centerpieces
Table clothes can be floral, solid colors, lace, whatever works for you. Garden flowers growing in pots are fabulous for centerpieces. Pots can be painted, covered with fabric or covered with moss. Topiaries also look great as centerpieces. Again, all re-usable plants are used for the tables.
The ideas for your garden wedding are limitless. The most important thing is to plan and plan carefully. Whether your garden type is lush or Zen, you'll be most successful if you carefully detail your garden design and floor plan. The symbolism of your garden wedding is beautiful. It's about nature, growth, and the beauty of what is real. What a great start for a love that bloom just as your wedding garden grows, for many, many more years to come.
