There is an Idiom which says "the first impression is the last impression," which is apt for corporate organizations. As whatever a person or an employee wears makes a lot of difference in his personality, professionalism and many other factors.

Every company has different policies when it comes to attires. There is a common rule in all companies which differentiates the clothing in two ways - formal and casual. Formal attire is a black or dark colored suit with a tie and formal shoes for men. And formal pants and formal shirt or a formal skirt which looks very professional for girls. Similarly, casual includes jeans, T-shirts, skirts which look decent and are not revealing are acceptable. Apart from these attires, there are many other things which one should not be wearing in the office. Let's figure it out:

1. Excessive perfumes: There are people who literally bathe with perfume when they come to office. God knows whether they bathe at home, but yes they definitely do that with perfume. So, excessive use of perfumes - especially when you are going to office - should be avoided, because this may cause inconvenience to your colleagues. Some get a feeling of nausea due to strong odor of the perfumes.

2. Wrinkled clothes: A very important thing that has to be kept in mind while going to office is neatly ironed clothes should be worn. People especially on Fridays wear clothes or jeans that have wrinkles on it and also which has cuts revealing the body parts. This clear No No for a professional in a professional environment. This rule applies to both male and female.

3. T-shirts with slogans on it: Youths these days like to wear Gordy T-shirts with slogans like "Barack my world", "I may not be sexy but parts of me are hot." This kind of stuff is not acceptable. Moreover for girls; tops that reveal the body parts - deep-neck tops, micro minis and other body-revealing attires - should not be worn.

4. Dresses revealing lingerie: There is this trend these days to wear clothes which show parts of lingerie. This is a strict no-no in a professional environment, where women have to meet so many people and interact with them. Dresses like this would make others uncomfortable and they would be called an unprofessional slut.

5. Flip slippers: professionalism not just means professional attire but it includes formal shoes as well. Just imagine how it looks when a person wearing formal suit with a pair of slippers or to make it more concise a bathroom slipper. Truly unprofessional, isn't It? So nice decent formal shoes when wearing a formal dress or suit would be perfect, and that would make one look more professional and confident. Similarly, a pair of casual suits while wearing jeans and T-shirt would be absolutely complete in itself.

Apart from the above mentioned points, there are many other things that should not be worn in office or a professional environment. So attire shows the true personality of a person not only in office but even outside the office. In a nutshell, one has to be very careful while selecting an attire keeping in mind the professionalism as well as whether it suits your personality, as your choice of clothing speaks about your personality.
