Create Sizzle -
"A customer doesn't buy the bacon, she buys the sizzle." That's an old sales cliche, but it's true. Sizzle is the excitement, fun and creativity that makes a product stand out from the crowd. When it comes to handcrafted jewelry, sizzle is about showing off your funky, crafty Artisan style and backing it up with customer service that will bring people back to your eBay listings over and over again.
Creating sizzle on a huge website like eBay can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be impossible. Begin by selecting a screen name that says excitement, zest, quirkiness or whatever it is you want your jewelry to convey. Weave sizzle throughout your listings with carefully selected words and photos. Show it in the way you deal with customers on a day to day basis.
If you sell with genuine, heartfelt enthusiasm. Your customers will remember that feeling each time they wear your jewelry, and it will encourage repeat sales and the all important positive eBay feedback.
Register Now-
You may not be ready to sell on eBay, but the registration process earns you a "Member since" date that tells people how long you've been an eBay trading partner. Whether you create your first listing immediately or start selling a year from now, your membership time on eBay becomes important when others are deciding if you've been a "verified" seller long enough to trust you with their money.
Get To Know Ebay-
Study eBay as though it's your on-the-job training program. Sign on each day to learn something about listing and selling. Look at your personal "My ebay" page. It will have information on bids, sales and pending transactions. Go to the "Help" pages and read the topics. Check out the "Community" and look for other jewelry sellers who are ready and willing to share their eBay experiences. Become familiar with "Feedback," the program that can make or break you as a seller because it lets customers rate your performance and tell the world what they think about you and your jewelry.
Learn by Searching-
One of the best ways to figure out how to list your particular style of jewelry is to study the search pages and see how others do it. Go to a "Search" block at the top of any eBay page. Type in an item description, beaded sterling silver earrings, for instance; hit enter and take a look at the listings that come up.
Experiment with search options: auctions, Stores Only, fixed price listings. Search jewelry listings by expiration date and time, distance,
