Life cannot be described by a single word or a few sentences. You can only live it!
The beautiful axiom 'As above, so below' comes from the Hermetic teachings and it refers to the 'macrocosm' (the entire universe) which corresponds to the 'microcosm' (each human being is believed to be a tiny universe in existence). The ancients believed in the truth 'that man is the counterpart of God on earth; as God is man's counterpart in heaven.' In plain English, you can say that we are made in the image of God. Creation had begun and was completed. We were complete and whole when we started life. And as part of God, we live and have our being in Him. Nothing exists outside of Him!
Despite the advent of religions and other esoteric teachings, we do not know for sure how life started. Although the Bible says, 'In the beginning', it is futile to search for the answer. It is just like a circle. Once the circle is complete, you do not know where the starting point is, neither is there an ending point!
The real meaning of life is not written in any book. You cannot flip through the pages trying to find the answer there. The holy scriptures are only guidelines pointing in a direction. They serve as beacons of hope and inspiration for us on the journey of life. Each of us will have to find our own way home.
Every human being is a tiny universe: the form with its maze of nerves and blood vessels, organs and muscles intertwined within a bag of bones known as the 'body' is a phenomenal creation beyond imagination. God breathes a 'breath of life' into the human body and infuses it with consciousness. Ask yourself the question: 'How does it feel to be alive?' Isn't it that you are the greatest manifestation that life has ever given to any living thing on earth? You are bestowed with the gift of a mind to learn and experience what life has to offer. The reasons for your existence may not be apparent to you now, but you have chosen here as your temporary home to grow and nurture.
Life is what you want it to be. Whether you know it or not, your destiny is in your hands. You have a choice to change your life to fit your immediate environment. Your awakening must begin from inside. Every thought and action you make now will shape your future life. There is no force more powerful than your own 'creative energy' which is within each of us. This energy is the same destructive force discernible in tornadoes and tsunamis. Your world is created out of this
