Obesity continues to rise across many countries because of sedentary lifestyle and food revolutions. A lot of people complaints that due to their busy work and personal life's that they have no time to exercise. I personally think it's all excuses to get themselves to be active again. Physical activity doesn't have to be all at once and can be spread out into different intervals and it's doesn't have to be strenuous to reach the benefits you get from exercise. There's plenty of different activities that you can fit into each individual's lifestyle.

WALK WHENEVER POSSIBLE

No matter how busy you are, you are bound to take a break from everything that you do at work. Lunch time for instance, most people will have about 30-45minutes lunch break at work. Given you taking 20 minutes to finish your lunch, you still have the extra time to spare for a small walk outside of the building. Also, you can use the stairs instead of the elevator at work. In addition, whenever you go work, grocery shopping or the mall, park at the far end of the parking lot and walk to your destination. Trust me, you will get use to it and stop being a whiner.

Average people nowadays usually takes between 3000 - 5000 steps a day but you are adviced to take about 10,000 steps per day to stay healthy. Use a pedometer to track our daily progress. A lot of people tend to be discouraged because the big numbers that they see, but they need to focus on the big picture. No one ask you to change your lifestyle completely in one day. Small steps to reach the goal is key to sucess in long term. When you reach your goal, please reward yourself with something that you like.

TEAM UP WITH FRIENDS

Sometimes people might need some encouragement or some company during exercise. Team up with your buddies or co-worker to do exercise together. Also, during a friends party or function you can play some interesting games that include some physical activity into it, twister for example or whoever that losses a game has to do push-up, jumping jacks or sit-ups.

MAXIMIZE USE OF TECH

The gaming industry continues to develop and produces games that include physical activity into it for individuals that like to play games. Wii/ Wii FIT for example is a popular device that makes you interacts with the game and usually people tend to spend more than an hour playing it. There's tennis, boxing, yoga, bowling that you can choose to spice up the variety. If you like to dance, there's also a dance revolution game where you can purchase the dancing pad and play the game at the comfort of your living room while including some exercise regimen to your daily routine.

MOVE WHEN WATCHING TV

More people spend time watching TV than doing exercise these days. To add some physical activity while doing something you enjoy would be ideal. You can use a dumb bell to do some weight training during TV commercials instead of channel browsing to find something to watch.

Adding more physical activity is not as hard as you would think it is.
