Keeping positive is something that we all are told whether it be by our parents, friends or co-workers. Keeping positive sounds easy, but stresses in life sometimes make it difficult to remain motivated and optimistic. So what can we do to help remain positive? In this article you will learn ways to keep yourself motivated and "Switched On" so to speak. I believe there are several things that play a role in the mindset of people and those are:
Environment factors Goals & Desire factors Social factors
Environment is all around us, whether it be natural or man made. Your environment takes a big toll on your mood. Therefore I think I can make the reasonable conclusion that a person who lives in a shelter is not going to be as motivated and positive than a person who lives in their own house. Another example is asking yourself if you lived in an area where the is lots of drugs and crime, how positive would you be? Whether we like it or not, our environment is a big consideration when determining its effects on our mindsets.
Goals and Desires. Studies have shown that people who have goals and ambitions tend to be more positive and motivated than the majority of other people. When you have goals and desires, you have something to look forward to in your life and the adventure of getting there is what makes life interesting. People who have no goals, have no direction and end up becoming lost in their own life which makes them very unhappy. Having goals provides definition and direction to life as well as provides a gateway for personal success.
Social factors plays a role in everything. For example if you grew up with friends or parents who always thought negatively about things, then chances are you might pick that trend and way of thinking up for your own. Our lives are a summation of all our life experiences, therefore if we experience negativity all ours lives, then there is a high possibility that we will be negative ourselves because that's what we've always known. Although there are some people who can ignore their social influences altogether despite any social consequence.
Much like everything in life, keeping positive is a skill that needs to be practiced. To put everything into perspective a general way to remember how to keep positive is place yourself in an environment where you feel comfortable and relaxed. What are your goals? and make a plan on what steps you have to take to achieve those goals and execute the plan. Finally, make friends with people who share similar values because people of similar traits make good social crutches when times are tough and you know you have someone to turn to. One absolute final thing to remember is and probably is the best thing to remember is make sure you reserve time for yourself and use that time to do what makes you happy.
