To be a modern-warrior: Know thy enemy.
A warrior?
Most people would not know a real warrior if they fell over one!
The main reason is that their perception of a warrior and the actual countenance of a warrior are two different conceptions.
As Nathaniel Whitley writes; these days a modern-warrior is the faceless man among the masses. He is everyman and no man. The modern warrior is you.
I totally agree with his statement.
We are all warriors, who by our actions determine if there will be war or peace.
CW Smith III writes; knowing one will always have an enemy is the first reality a warrior must always face. But who are these enemies? How does one discover them? Enemies come in all forms, be they colleagues, family or overt rivals. Some seek to obstruct you and others seek to deceive and destroy you.
Again I totally agree with his statement.
To know your enemy is the first victory of the battle because you can determine what 'he' will or intends to do.
Gary Zalben writes; the man who is wise arms himself in opposition to the different types of warfare-against the cynic, against karma and destiny, against bad habits and against evil thoughts, will be victorious in the adventure of life.
Once again I totally agree with his statement.
Because this statement identifies the things we need to recognise, what we have to face; cynicism, karma, destiny, bad habits and evil thoughts.
Then from the pen of Peggy Molloy (whose photo does not do her any justice) comes;
To be a modern-warrior: Know thyself! I am my own worst enemy. My mind blocks the truth of who I am, and how I am perceived by others.
Yet again I totally agree with his statement.
Once we know ourselves we know our skills and limitations; we know our own weaknesses and strengths.
Then Latoya Lawrence wrote; I'm always aware when my enemies want me to not be strong, not be confident, not be happy and, not have any hope through their workings of "roots".
Yet once again I totally agree with his statement.
To know what our enemies seek to do to us is another part of the understanding in knowing the enemy.
I have proved time and time again, in warfare, in battle, that I am a formidable enemy; this not only includes in actual combat but also on the streets of life.
In my earlier life I was a professional soldier, doing the things that soldiers do. Sometimes when I look back at my life I think, 'why did I become a soldier?' I justify the answer by claiming that it added to my knowledge base
