Social networking websites are places where users join up to share and learn from their peers about a variety of subjects. There's many focused on the beauty world, from trends and tendencies to makeup or hairstyles, or even all of them. This is a list of the ones I've personally found more interesting, so it's not exhaustive and there will be hundreds that are as good but haven't come to my attention then. They're not only about makeup products, so it includes sites focused on all around style ideas, from clothing to hairstyles.

Stylehive
A place for all those addicted to style and new trends, be it on makeup, clothes or beauty products. Trendsetters share their latest finds and coolest products, along with all kinds of retailers and upcoming new artists, making this place a breeding ground for new trends and fashion icons, all based on word of mouth from their very activeuser-base from around the world.

Makeup Alley
Probably one of the best known and most popular, with over a million users, this site is focused on makeup and other beauty products. You can have a profile, upload your pictures or favourite looks and read product reviews from other users. It's also a great platform to find people to swap those makeup products you bought but are never going to use.

Taaz
This website is based around creating and sharing with your network new makeup looks, using a virtual makeup creator. After uploading your picture, you can use it as a base to create the edgiest makeup looks with their easy to use tool, and then share them with others for feedback or inspiration. You can use the newly created look as your picture profile on Facebook and other networking sites, and get it rated by other users, who can also use it as a base to create their own modified looks from yours.

Specktra
This website is probably more oriented to finding people with the same tastes as you about looks and products, and a frequent hunting ground for those who want to know about the new tendencies before they even hit the catwalks. Forums, sales, swaps, reviews, there's something for everybody in this site.

Total Beauty
Another old player in the beauty networking world, this website is famous for their contest that will allow you to win goodies and have fun. As any of the others in this list, they also have reviews, forums and groups so you can share your mind about the latest beauty products with similarly minded people.

RestyleMe
This is a great beauty community for people who want feedback on their style, from clothing to hairstyles or want to showoff their best looks. Easy to use, you can upload pictures, post questions and find other users with similar issues about their style. The services of thousands other stylists, at the click of a button.

Beautistat
This new community is focused on allowing women with various skin types and issues find others with the same problems, recommend products and make reviews. On July 2009 they started a heavy remodelling of their site, so it's worth keeping a look on what the new website will bring.

This list is just a drop in the ocean of sites suiting every kind of approach to beauty you can find in the Internet, so if you want to share your favourites or send any comment it will be most welcome.
