Why believe in God? This is not for one person to tell another why we need to believe in God. What we have to do is express our own personal experiences and let the individual decide if God exists in their life as well and reasons why it is important to have Him in their life. The reasons should not be because we want to be good or that we may find ourselves "inherently" bad, the reasons should be from both our hearts and from our minds. What is the most important thing to remember is God is love and God is peace and that no matter what our belief is, He is there for us. This writer has had plenty of personal experiences to say that God exists and that He is there for each and every one of us in His own special way.
This writer has written many times about his own conversion. He was born into a Conservative Jewish household where God existed from the beginning. You see, through education, Jews learn through the Old Testament, especially the Pentateuch or the First Five Books of Moses, that God chose the Jewish people as His chosen people. Even though God did this, there were many, many times throughout the Old Testament where the Jewish people disgraced God with their actions as a people and He threatened repeatedly to destroy them. When He made this threat, the people through prophets such as Moses and David and Ezekiel and Elijah, would bow to God asking for forgiveness for their actions and they promised to God that they would be good and would honor Him even more. This would stop the threats from God only for a short while.
God made His biggest promise in the Book of Isaiah when He told the story of Immanuel, God With Us. He was soon going to deliver to earth the perfect answer to the sins that the people were committing. The answer was Jesus Christ, God's Son, the Messiah.
What this writer would like to do at this point is to give his top ten reasons to believe in God. Remember this, you as an individual can take it for what it is worth or you can leave it. My suggestion is to really think long and hard and see if your heart has room for Him.
God gave us Jesus Christ His Son, the Messiah to us for our sins and our transgressions. God in human form went to the Cross for us for the same reasons in number one. God is GOOD. God is the Great Healer, the Great Physician. God is in Each of Us Whether We like it or not. God created the Heavens and the Earth. God LOVES each and every one us. Good or Bad. There is no other Like Him. God gave us the written Word. God created us like He created the Heavens and the Earth.
There are many more reasons to believe in God. However, remember it is up to you to understand the reasons. Read the Holy Bible from cover-to-cover as much as you can. This will help you understand God and the reasons to believe.
