It's almost that time again. Fall is almost upon us, and the excitement, anxiety and trepidation about returning to school is upon us. One of the hardest things for teenagers (girls especially,) is deciding what kind of wardrobe to assemble. Make a good impression on your friends and classmates with some of the fall of 2009's expected trends.
Fashion tends to repeat itself throughout history, and it is very much influenced by extrinsic factors like the economy. The 1980's saw the emergence from an economic recession. Perhaps that is why, with our struggling economy, one of the most unanimously forecasted trends for this season is the revival of 1980's fashion. It gets better; these tees are being paired with everything from jeans to pencil skirts and cardigans or long tulle skirts with platform shoes.
The military jacket (think Michael Jackson) is the chic piece for outerwear this season. Capes are replacing the tailored coats of last season. Another popular trend in outerwear? The yeti-coat. Warning: Not for the girl trying to blend in! These coats are brightly colored and shaggy. Although not for simple day-wear, these are great for nights out, especially paired with tall boots and a huge dose of confidence.
When shopping jeans, baggy jeans that are rolled at the ankles bring back fashions of the 1950's. Pair them with loafers for the full rockabilly look la Elvis Presley. Menswear inspired fashions are a craze and this style
