TO HELL AND BACK

There was a time when my mind was not my own
through a tangled web of darkness, I tried to breath
stumbling blindly through a world I could not see
No longer able to hide my fear
something building inside me
who's that stranger in the mirror

I've been to hell and back
and I can't act
like nothin' ever happened
I fell into the darkness but you lift me up
To hell and back
and I can't act like I'm the same
To hell and back
and there's no one left to blame

In this life there comes a time we feel hopelessly alone
though we try bey ourselves to make it through
It's something we find we cannot do
No longer able, to act alone
but Jesus came before us
to guide us home

He's been to hell and back
and I can't act like
nothing ever happened
He fell into the darkness
but was lifted up
To hell and back
and I can't act like I'm the same
To hell and back
and there's no one left to blame
