If you readers are anything like me, you get bored very easily with the same old drinks time and time again. Sometimes I just don't feel like a Tom Collins, or a Vodka Tonic. Well, in extreme boredom the other day I decided to raid my liquor cabinet and create something new and delicious. In an attempt to not create something that closely resembled common drinks, I chose more random, underused, ingredients. After several terrible failures, I had some success. Here is the recipe for a slightly girly cocktail that is perfect for social gatherings, as an apertif or served with (even as) dessert:
Winterberry Martini Recipe
2.5 ounces good vodka (Good vodka is important because theres not much to this drink).
0.5 ounces Creme de Cassis (Mine was DeKuyuper, but I don't think it matters)
1.5 ounces Pama (Or any other pomegranate liqueur, in a bind, you could substitute this and the vodka for 3.5 ounces of pomegranate vodka)
Pour all ingredients into a shaker full of chipped ice, and shake vigorously until frigid. Pour into a cocktail glass and garnish with pomegranate seeds and, if you can get them, fresh redcurrants.
