The Pig Races ...

Some friends took us to the pig races.

I secretly thought to myself, 'Of all the places.'

Surprisingly we had a fun and wonderful time.

Watching all of the competing swine.

I even enjoyed listening to their funny names.

As we watched them line up to begin their games.

I watched as they introduced 'Hammy Faye'.

As they showed them the cookie and they were on their way.

Ole' Hammy Faye was a bit of a cheat.

As she sniffed and snorted and moved her feet.

She was after the cookie at the back gate.

She didn't care about racing just getting the bait.

I laughed so hard as they ran their course.

Who would have known a cookie could create such force?

I'm really glad I went to the pig races.

It turned out to be one of life's better places.
