For every teenage boy there is a time when he must venture into the world of unknown and start clothes shopping by himself. This is a lot more daunting than many of us shopaholic teenage girls would imagine, so if any teenage boys are reading this, here are a few tips, directly from the mind a post-teenage girl, on what to wear and how to wear it.
Jeans: Whatever is most comfortable is fine, as long as they go almost to the floor and we can't see more than an inch of your boxers. And from experience, most girls don't care if they're Calvin Klein or Wal-Mart.
Shoes: Believe it or not, shoes are the first thing most girls look at after the face. Personally, I think a pair of classic black and white Vans are a must for any guys wardrobe up to the age of 30. Also, I don't understand why more guys don't wear flip-flops in the summer, one of the top turn-ons for every single one of my friends.
A tux jacket: Another wardrobe must. Wear with a shirt and jeans to any formal event for a touch of class. Also a handy way of chatting up a freezing girl on a chilly evening ;)
Hair: Bed-head is the way forward. Take a small amount of gel and tousle into your hair for a good 30 seconds. Whatever you do, do not paste your fringe to your forehead, not only does it look like you are trying, unsuccessfully, to look like an underage car thief, but it also gives you bad acne.
Jewellery: Keep it simple. I know most guys wouldn't be seen dead in any type of jewellery, but I am writing to those who think gold chains are 'bling', sorry to break it to you, but they make most girls gag. A small surfer bracelet or something made by your little sister can actually be really cute, especially if there's a story behind it.
These are just a few tips that I would like to see a few more teenage guys embrace but the most important rule is to stick to your own style and personality. I'm quite a preppy, surfery type girl and these are the hints and tips of me and my friends. But if flip-flops cut your feet and a tux jacket makes you feel like a bit your father, you don't have to wear them! Be confident, be smart and be nice, and all the girls will love you!
