The music which individuals listen to affects their perceptions, heart rate and their ability to relax. It also helps to feel inspired. Music is this amazing media which takes an individual out of their normal state of mind into a place where they feel they need to be. Although, when one examines music therapy, the first thing which comes to mind is relaxation, this isn't necessarily the only benefit of the therapy one can use the medium of music for. This article explores the many ways in which music enhances human behavior and attitude, mental ability to cope and restores some sense of balance.
*Energy music.
*Relaxation music.
*Reflective music.
*Music to distract the mind.
*Inspirational music.
Energy Music.
When you see a group of dancers, these people are having fun. Similarly people who work out to music use the balance of the music to define the movements they take. Music helps to create a rhythm, and this doesn't have to be quiet music. Energy music helps the individual to gain energy, or to expend excess of energy. It can be used for exercise though can also be used to alleviate mental difficulties and to sharpen the mind.
Relaxation music.
New age music is well known for its properties of being able to help the individual unwind. Lay on a bed in an ambiance which allows the mind to relax. Ensure that you wear clothing which is not tight. Listen to the music and feel each part of your body by the thought processes of imagining each muscle and each limb feeling no tension. Relaxation music is great for people who don't have time in their lives to relax. Taking an hour out of their daily routine, it helps to refresh the tired individual, making them more able to cope with day to day stresses and strains.
Reflective music.
The therapeutic value of reflective music is that is can help create moods. Perhaps the individual just wants that quiet moment of reflection before writing inspirational poetry, or filling in their journal for the day. Reflective music is any kind of music which the individual finds calming. This can include many genres such as classical, folk music, instrumental music or even rock, as long as the music produces that ability to reflect. To many individuals memories play a great part in determining the kind of music. Memories attached to different music help the reflection process.
