Why some people choose not to write for a living

In my opinion writing is a great career, but there are some out there who choose not to make a living out of writing? Why is this? Why are there some people out there who don't want to make a living out of writing? There are certainly plenty of rewards to being a writer, and there are a lot of people who I hear out there complaining that they always wanted to write, but never did. Well, if you want to, you should give it a shot. Why don't people want to write for a living?

There is the easiest explanation and that is that some people just aren't good at, or don't like writing. It can be a pain for some people to have to come up with ideas, and have to remember spelling and grammar rules. Some people just find it to be a waste of time, and if they don't have to write anything they won't. That is a good reason why people don't like to write.

Some people are discouraged by the amount of time that you have to put in for relatively little pay. This is true that there isn't always a lot of paying work out there, but you can get by if you are smart. If you can take the time to build up the network that you want, and get people to read your work, it can become a money maker for you in time.

Some people are scared to write because they feel as if people might label them as no good. Well, if that is your only fear, you could possibly not work in any industry. There will always be people out there who feel like they have to label others as no good. It doesn't mean that you aren't any good, it just means that you have to fight the critics and keep on gettiing better. Nobody publishes a novel on the first try.

Some people just feel like they might be too busy to write on a regular basis. It takes time to be a good writer, and some are just too busy with other work, and life. It only takes a few articles a day, or even a few a week to quickly build up an article count, and start making money, and getting feedback. Even if an article isn't that great at first, it only takes a little time to re-write it.

There are plenty of reasons why people don't want to write for a living. Whether they feel like it would take too much time, or the pay isn't good enough, there are lot's of reasons people can come up with. I love writing, and wouldn't do anything else for a living. Having paid my dues and taken the time to build up my portfolio, I would have gone through all the hard times all over again.
