*NOTE
It is a little difficult to understand the author's idea for a song based solely on lyrics and no tune. So as you read my lyrics for "It Wasn't Love" try to imagine the sound of steel drums with a little Reggae/ country/with a bit of Jimmy Buffett 'swagger.' Also the numerous comas are used to help the reader get a grasp of the rhythm/ word flow and might not be placed grammatically correct in all spaces. *
(Chorus)
It wasn't bad; it wasn't great, it wasn't love....
He was hot, and he had charm- the kind most girls dream of.
What I thought was l-o-v-e;
Turned out to be, pure l-u-s-t...
It wasn't bad; it wasn't great, and it wasn't love.
(Verse-1)
A guy at work, was handsome and very kind.
He asked if I, would like, to go out, sometime.
I'm sure he had the best of intentions.
But I've never cared much for star trek conventions.....
It wasn't bad; it wasn't great, it sure wasn't love.
(Chorus)
It wasn't bad; it wasn't great, it wasn't love....
He was hot and he had charm- the kind most girls dream of.
What I thought was l-o-v-e;
Turned out to be, pure l-u-s-t...
It wasn't bad; it wasn't great, and it wasn't love.
(Verse-2)
Last year, I thought I'd found the one.
He suggested, we get away, and soak up the sun.
We planned a romantic stay in the Bahamas,
Then I found out, he'd invited his mama.......*ugh (*spoken)
It wasn't bad; it wasn't great, and it sure wasn't love....
(Verse-3)
I strolled down the beach; just, to clear up my mind.
All I, could see, was couples...mostly entwined.
I never wanted, to end up like this...
Just for once I'd like to know what love is....
I'll bet it's good, I'll bet it's great, to be in love.
(Fade out new chorus )
Oh...ya know I'll keep on looking,
Till it's good, it will be great; I Will find love....
Never giving up until it's good, 'cause it will be great, and I will find love.
I'll look until I find me something good, something great, I'll hold out for love.

Our love grew harder

Insatiable instincts invade my cognitions
Desperate for relief and feigning for that feeling
