5 things to know about Craigslist

Have you always heard about this popular site but never really used it? Here are 5 things you need to know in order to use the sight successfully! You will learn how to: sell, buy and post ads. You will also learn about fun things to do there, and you will also be informed on how to protect yourself, in order to make your use of this site a safe one! Craigslist is a centralized network of online communities, featuring free online classified advertisements.I have had some really excellent experiences with this classifieds website. I have also had some not so good results. I will relay both the positive and negative encounters I have experienced.

Here are five things to know about Craigslist.

1.) Safety first! This can be a very dangerous place. Any one can come here and that can and will include the crazies, thieves, and scam artists, not to mention, deviants! However, you can use this site safely. Be safe, read and follow all recommendations the site offers to be aware of scams and ploys, that may jeopardize your safety. Use your common sense! I am not recommending this site for dating or meetings that offer rather unscrupulous activities. Craigslist offers a wide variety of sections, be careful where you go! I once responded to a job ad and found myself a target of an overseas scam. I spotted it right away. My first clue, the reply via email had many misspelled and unintelligible sentences. They also promised to send checks, and I was to deposit the check at my bank, then send them money orders. Needless to say it made no sense, and I reported it to the local authorities. I also recommend that you never agree to meet with anyone alone!

2.) Job section: This is a wonderful resource for local employment, and, more employers are using this site to find job candidates. Many local businesses that are looking for local workers do advertise here! You can be the first to see many of these ads in real time. You can get a jump start on everyone else and be a first responder to the ad! I have gotten several great interviews and actually landed employment using this section of the site!

3.) The free section ads: Just a few weeks ago I was looking at the free stuff. I saw an ad for a weight set, with a weight bench. My son has been wanting one for a long time! I called the ad because it was a very local ad, posted in my town. Unbelievably it was a family we knew, and we had this set, worth $900.00, in my garage within 2
