Travelling causes anxiety bouts to a lot of us, stress before travelling is a common ailment that almost all of us experience. As the clock ticks and the time and day of departure looms near you feel tense. There is so much to do that you start feeling overburdened. But no problem is without a solution; if you take a few necessary steps you can avoid all those scary nightmares and enjoy your travelling experience;
Always be organized. For all those I will do it at the last moment types, there is no harm in being prepared and this is not as difficult or tough as it sounds. Being organized only means do the things properly and orderly. Have your ticket and book a seat well in time. Always keep in mind the time of departure of your flight and consider the travelling time to get to the airport. If you run late you will definitely suffer from stress and you will become nervous and jittery.
Keep all your paperwork in order. Your passport should be with you if you are leaving the country, or any other documentation that is required should be properly filed in a folder. Your I.D card and driving license (in case you are driving) should be in your wallet that fits in your handbag. If you have to report for work once you reach your destination make sure all your papers , c.v, credentials etc are in order and you do not get panic attacks at the last moment.
Make a check list of things to do and the things you need. Carefully recheck the list so as not to miss out anything important. It is better be safe than sorry. Make a separate list for the things to be done on the last day before travelling; this will not only help you in being organized but you will also be meticulous, on schedule and stress free. Moreover you will have a clear picture of the tasks to perform and when to perform them. If you are planning on calling on friends or relatives and want to take some presents along. Buy them well in time, and choose small tokens because you do not want a huge dent in your pocket for carrying extra luggage. You can also buy presents once you reach your destinations, attractive gift shops at the airport really help.
If you are travelling with family and kids it will definitely help to plan before hand. Keep a separate hand bag for the things your kids need. One of your kid can hand carry such a bag. If you have a baby with you always keep an extra pair of clothing handy for your baby and you. A bottle or baby bag is necessary in such a case. Keep wet wipes
