Political correctness has gotten so far out of control largely because it is fake, It is nothing more than a comfort to some people who have never done anything in their life to actually help someone. IE, I have never helped a black man, or been friends with one, but I am ok because I would NEVER say nigger etc. etc. In other words it is a lazy form of civil action for those who really don't care at all. so far as I am concerned as a woman, you can call me any derogatory thing you so desire, if at the same time you pay me equal wages to a man.
However, the issue of religion in schools has nothing at all to do with political correctness, but with indoctrination of children and seperation of church and state.
All these Christians wouldn't appreciate it so much if Wiccans went about posting the Wiccan rede on playgrounds, for the same reason. They are essentially the same rules, but both politics and religion could be kept out of schools, because they are a place for learning not debate.
