Poetry: Coffee

by T.C Leonard

"Kindergarten Coffee Drinker"

As a kinder-coffee fan,

I don't like my java bold

On ice or in a bottle,

It's a drink that's best served cold

Coffee in its purest form

Is nothing that I savor-

Give me three creams and sugars

And a touch of chocolate flavor

My apologies, dear Juan Valdez,

For sipping Joe that's mild

I can take the brew that I prefer

And share it with a child

It's just the way my taste buds roll,

And I hardly am a boaster,

But at the local coffee house

I'm on a wanted poster
