Poetry: Right here, waiting

by Paul Roberts

Created on: August 06, 2009

The words I need to say to you were right there on my lips,

you couldn't wait to leave me then your hands pressed in your hips.

I felt the sting of every word you spat in my direction,

I know though, deep down , you now miss my affection.

I'm still here waiting, for what I really don't know,

I guess perhaps a single sign that your feelings are not all cold.

I'm still here as I've always been though my hair is turning grey,

On the porch , not really looking for you, yet here anyway.
