Poetry: Missing someone

by Kyra Terrill

Created on: August 05, 2009

[Visions from an Aching Heart]

Heart still aches
While body yearns
Breathing lessens
World barely turns

Steps quicken
Head hung low
Pocketed hands
Nowhere to go

Eyes draining
Mind clouded
Restless nights
Thoughts crowded

Memories replaying
Emotionally in debt
Face frozen & numb
Acceptingly regret

Looking to the sky
An answer to reveal?
Snow-covered world
Surroundings will heal

Becoming part of this world
Eventually I'll heal
Truth hidden in the sky
Someday to be revealed

Body's become numb
Continuously regret
Those nights replaying
Forever in your debt

Hopeful nights
Dreams crowded
Eyes stopped draining
Sky's still clouded

Missing your hands
Having someplace to go
Heartbeat now quickens
Head no longer low

Sadness will eventually lessen
World slowly turns
Only you can stop this ache
Always for you: I yearn
