There was a time in my life when I did not understand the Bible. I did not turn to it as my life manual. I did not lean on it for my food for thought to start my day, or read it before I went to bed. I did not trust in it because I was ignorant. I was guilty as charged as many other people in this country. I pretty much said the same thing when it came to the Bible which was that the Bible was hard to understand and it contradicted itself. But something happened along the way which grabbed my attention to the Lord that would change my entire perspective whether the Bible was trustworthy.
In 2004, I was feeling much despair in my life. I remember standing, leaning on my bedroom dresser in deep thought asking myself what I should do with my life. It was then that I heard a voice inside my head that said Jesus. At the same time, my heart began to have a tugging feeling. Jesus was tugging at my heart. I went on with my usual business, but not for long because something horrific in my life to get my attention would be the beginning of my journey to answering the many questions that I have long had coupled with an awakening to the truth whether the Bible is trustworthy. Hurricane Charlie was only two days away from having his sights set on us in the Tampa Bay area of Florida when I received a horrific phone call from my aunt. She had cancer and it had spread throughout her body, classifying her as a stage 4. I became angry and told her that I would not accept this adding that she will get through this, and she will be fine. I repeated this over and over. While I was saying this to her I literally had no doubts. I meant every word I said. After the phone call, I immediately dropped to my knees and prayed to Jesus, pleading with him to heal my aunt as well as not to let hurricane Charlie hit us. The hurricane turned at the last minute, hitting south of us, and I continued pleading with Jesus. A month later, my aunt called me and she was in remission. I then began to read the Bible faithfully every day and to my surprise my eyes gradually began to open up.
I discovered that the Bible is amazing. It is true to its word from the beginning to the end. It answers every question that you have regarding circumstances in your life. It covers every issue in life. It is a life manual. The Bible says what it means and it means what it says. Words do scream out at you regarding a certain area in your life that you need to improve, or have a question on. When you read the Bible daily it opens your eyes to your surroundings, the evil that is on television, and to the world affairs that are happening in many countries that parallels what is warned in the Bible. You can see it. You can feel it in the air that the stage is presently being set for the grand finale. No one can deny that. No one can deny the gradual subjugating being placed on us of losing our rights, our freedoms, and our privacy. Look at the poor economy, the feeling that things are only going to get much worse, the moral break down, the crazy weather, and the worries of World War III. Reading the Bible opens your eyes. It will not steer you wrong. You begin to see the whole picture at face value. It is true what Jesus said and that is that man cannot live by bread alone, but by the Word of God. Without it, we are lost sheep. In fact, the Holy Spirit becomes dominant inside of you as you read the Bible daily. You become alive, filled with joy, and feel peaceful. You will discover the wonderful things that come with reading the Bible. Who in their right mind would not want to know the truth? Absolutely, the Bible is trustworthy.
