How to make homemade skin lotions

Have you ever thought about making your own homemade skin lotions and save a lot of money and energy shopping around? Well, think no more. Check out the following useful recipes and make your dream come true!

Homemade Lotion with Honey for all Skin Types

Ingredients

2 cups of dried chamomile

5 tablespoons of honey

1 cup of goat's milk

9 tablespoons of wheat germ

Method

Steep the chamomile in the goat's milk for 24 hours. Strain and keep the liquid. Add the honey and the wheat germ to the liquid mixture and blend well for about 10 minutes. Apply gently to your face, starting from your forehead and work your way down to your skin in tiny, circular motions, avoiding applying lotion to your eyes, nose and mouth. Use the skin lotion at least 3 times a week and keep it in an air tight bottle.

Moisturising Almond Oil Lotion for Dry Sensitive Skin

Ingredients

1 cup of distilled water

1/7 borax powder

1 cup of almond oil

2 tablespoons of coconut oil

2 tablespoons of grated beeswax

3 tablespoons of honey

4 drops of lavender essential oil

Method

Mix almond oil, coconut oil, beeswax and honey in a glass bowl. Place the glass bowl inside of a large size sauce pan, fill pan with 2 inches of water and heat the mixture on low, until the beeswax is completely melted. In a separate glass bowl mix water and borax powder and blend well for about 15 minutes. Microwave the borax mixture for about a minute, till it boils.Poor the beeswax mixture into a blender and mix slowly in the hot borax mixture for about 10 minutes. Apply gently to your face, starting from your forehead and work your way down to your skin in tiny, circular motions, avoiding applying lotion to your eyes, nose and mouth. Add the lavender essential oil and blend well until the entire mixture is whipped. Use once a day and keep it in seal-able glass jar in the refrigerator.

Honey Astringent Lotion for Oily Skin

Ingredients

3 teaspoons of honey

3 teaspoons of nutmeg

3 teaspoons of coriander seed

5 teaspoons of grated lemon peel

2 teaspoons of cloves

1 teaspoon of benzoin

5 teaspoons of orange flower water

1 teaspoon of storax

6 teaspoons of rose water

4 teaspoons of lemon juice

8 teaspoons of alcohol

Method

Mix all the ingredients and blend them well for about 10 minutes. Poor the lotion into a large bottle for 48 hours, before using. Apply gently to the exposed parts of your skin, meaning the forehead,chin and the sides of your nose.
