How to and what to pack in you maternity bag
My idea of a maternity bag would be the stuff you bring with you to the hospital. The stuff you want to make sure you have when you are having the baby. There is so much to remember, you do not want to forget anything. You need to have your own bag, so does the baby, and even your husband. You never know how long you could be there so pack for at least two days.
Mother's bag of goodies
stretchy clothes
toothbrush and other toiletries
socks and/or slippers
cellphone and charger
camera
feminine pads
notebook and pen
address book with all of family and friends names and numbers
magazines, puzzles,and books
Babies bag of a whole of goodies
clothes and a whole lot of them, hats, booties, and sweater
brush
lotion and baby oil
hair ties (optional)
diapers
blankets
bottles
formula
nail clippers
baby wipes
These should be the main essentials to pack before you head out the door. The hospital may provide you with some of the items, but not much. You can never be too prepared for anything like this.
Your husband may want to bring some clothes and a few items too. As long as you and the baby have plenty of stuff at the hospital, he can leave you and the baby can't. No matter what though you always seem to forget that one little thing.
Be sure to start packing your bags when you are not far along. This gives you plenty of time to make sure you got it all. The best bag to get it the biggest one you can find. I am sure you will fill it up by the time you need it. Just go ahead and buy a diaper bag to fill up, that was easiest for me to do. One big item you do not want to forget is the car seat for baby. Most hospitals will not let you leave if it is not properly buckled up or if you do not have one.
That is the most essential list of stuff to bring with you. Again, just give yourself plenty of time to fill it up. By the time you are eight months along make a check list to see if you have it all. So be patient, take it easy, and when you head through the door on your way there don't forget the bag.
