GASPING ON LIES
I hook the night sound
challenging empty capsules.
Gasping on lies, I crash,
brow t soiled satin,
chanting to a river's darkness.
My shadow-thought catches
on a ragged thorn.
I corner it.
It strikes out. Shuddering stars
shake my earthen head.
Moon-fog trips my tongue.
Bird voices of a cold dawn know
I cannot swallow their trilling tunes.
I've slept up their heritage
in dark fantasies.
I whisper homage like a wraith
to Mother Terra,
Like swift-walking Sol.
