Glitches and cheats for Pokemon red, blue and yellow

Whether you are stuck trying to beat one of the original Pokemon games, or whether you have beat the game a hundred times and want a new experience, there are two glitches that will help you progress and have a little fun with it as well!

One of the most well-known glitches in the game is the missingno glitch, also known as the rare candy code, or just the infinity item cheat. If you follow the steps below, you can have everything you could ever desire from the game.

NOTE: This glitch can not be done on the Yellow version. The glitch was corrected for the release of that game, but it works perfectly on both Red and Blue.

First, I must note that you will need a few things to accomplish this glitch. You will need:

~A Pokemon who knows fly, and the badge to use it outside of battle

~A Pokemon who knows surf, and the badge to use it outside of battle

~An item you wish to have multiples of (obviously)

Steps:

~Fly to Viridian City and walk north. If you will recall earlier in the game, there was a man who refused to let you pass, and later when he does, he asks if you want to know how to catch a Pokemon. Speak to him, and allow him to show you how to catch one.

~Fly to Cinnabar island, and go as far right on the island as you can until you reach the shoreline.

~Place the item you wish to duplicate as the 6th item in your item list. This can be anything. The most common items to duplicate are rare candies, master balls, nuggets, etc.

~Surf up and down the bar where the land meets the water until you get into a battle with a strange Pokemon called missingno. He comes anywhere from level 0 to level 255. Make sure you have a strong team with you. Battle him, defeat him, and there you go!

WARNING: Whatever you do, DO NOT catch him. If you do, there is a great chance that it will screw up your game cartridge. You have been warned.

The next glitch is the Pokemon duplication glitch. This can be done at any point in the game. It can be done on Red, Blue, and Yellow, as well as on Silver and Gold, too. You can do this one of two ways. Either deposit a Pokemon from your party that you wish to duplicate into a box, or you can move it from one box to another. As you know, each transaction on the PC requires the game to be saved during the transaction. When you're moving your Pokemon to another box, simply turn off the game when it says that it's saving, and turn it back on. When you enter the game, you should be at the PC with one copy in the original box, and one in the box you moved it to. This works on any Pokemon, and you can do it as many times as you wish.

WARNING: As with any glitch, there are a couple things you should be aware of. Sometimes the glitch goes wrong, and it will delete the Pokemon that you are trying to duplicate. I've also had my whole box deleted on one occasion. However, that was after duplicating dozens of times in a row. The success rate is far greater than the rate of failure; however, I thought you should be aware of what may happen.

I hope these glitches have helped you out, and I hope they provide for some entertainment for you. Happy gaming!
