What I wouldn't give
For a dollar or two
Maybe for a sandwich
Or an ice cold brew
~
Perhaps I'll drink my breakfast
Instead of eggs and bacon
Finding it difficult to pour
As my hands keep shaking
~
Rocks roll down the pavement
No match for the tips of worn shoes
Right after left
One step after the next
~
My mood changes with the weather
On an eternal quest for peace of mind
No wife and kids at home to call my own
Just a close friend who's name is Hard Times
