Redwoods;
Magnificent. Majestic, the oldest living things. Le Grand, in a mountainous scene. Thought provoking, a writers dream. Ageless, timeless beauty standing so tall. In your world, I feel so small around every thing.
How tall were you when I was born? An inch or two shorter, but not much more? Do you remember, the wagon my grandpa road? He camped under your arms, in a driving heavy snow. Faces you've met and the stories you've heard told. memories swept by the wind, your world turns, so ominously slow.
What if I stood in your place? Two thousand years strong, without a brake. Did the winds carry stories your way? Maybe even from a long lost day. Have you heard about the man from Galilee? A sapling you were, at the time of his legacy. What would you tell me, my heart starts to yarn?The stories you could tell, the things that you have learned.
You'll still be standing there, long after I'm gone. I hope you'll remember, I sat at your base and played a song. You swayed to the music and connected with me, I hugged you once but then had to leave. Memories we shared and the things we've done, grows brighter in my heart, than the noon-days sun.
