She, my first love, still holds me mesmerized
A quick, easy laughter glows on her face
With her corn-silk hair and sky colored eyes
Enchanting beauty and natural grace
Uncommonly pure is this wise old soul
She, who first inspired me, taught me to love
Who completed my world, thus making me whole
Slept wrapped in my arms and fit like a glove
Like a thief, she arrived, stealing my heart
Years gone by in the passing of a beat
More potent than potion of cupids dart
I look back and forward to years we'll meet.
She's growing up so fast; high school this year
I'll watch from a distance and smile through tears
