This is a very practical book, which is different from other investing books. You don't learn any secrets of investing, or get tips on making a million dollars. Instead, you get advice on managing and evaluating your risk.
As investors, we often forget to look at different scenarios, and analyze our investments. This book is practical and reveals some of the basic Math behind common investments. A lot of us have invested in Mutual funds and let the professionals manage our money.
In this book, you will learn about the risks involved in these investments.
You will learn that some of the investments that you have been making are not about building your wealth, but about building the mutual funds investment pool. The author explains the rules of risk with detailed examples.
In the first few chapters, you will learn about the basic risk rules. Then, the author will take all these rules into detail, and explain each and every single aspect of the rules. This has been done through real investment examples. Throughout the book, you will learn about many faults that investors make, and all the risks that are involved with investing your money.
The author covers most of the investments that ordinary people make, and gives genuine advice. This isn't an average investing book, which teaches you about investing strategies. This book is about evaluating your risk, and betting with the odds on your side. Gambling examples have also been used to show the risk that gamblers face, and how casinos make all the profits.
This book is not only useful for investors, but it can also be used by financial advisors, gamblers, management, and anyone who wants to learn about evaluating risk. You don't need to be an investor, to use this book. Investing is all about the future, and you will always be risking your money.
But, the question is, will you be able to make money? Anyone can risk his/her money, but not everyone can make money by taking risks. Similar concepts have been covered in the book. This is an excellent book, which teaches us to think outside the box, and learn about different investments.
You will benefit a lot, if you are only beginning to invest. This book gets repetitive in a few chapters, because it is covering similar concepts. You should purchase this book, if you need to learn about risk management. This book targets the topic of risk management, and talks about it in detail.
