I think the most significant people in your life should be your family. No matter what, they should always be there for you, and you should always be there for them.
Now, I know this isn't exactly realistic. Families have tons of problems. A lot of families don't get along. I know this. My family has been through some incredibly hard times, but at the end of the day, we all realize exactly what we mean to each other.
It's important to figure out what each family member means to you. So maybe you don't get along with a couple of them, fine, but they are still your family and you should love them no matter what. Hopefully you can work through things and come out with a stronger relationship.
It's important for families to stick together. You're stuck with them for the rest of your life, unless you decide to seperate yourself which can be a rather emotional process, so you might as well make the best of it. Make sure that each family member knows how much you appreciate them.
