Poetry: Lost love

What do I feel I do not know,
A place left cold -as cold as the snow.
What did you take when you walked away,
the colors all fading leaving just grey.
Is this the impact of love's hard blow;
that even emotions have ceased to flow.
How come the sun doesn't shine,
filling darkness in this life of mine.
Trying not to hear gravity's call
Stay tears in my eyes that dare not fall.

Among hundreds I feel alone right now,
not able to really understand how.
How quick the gentle breeze that blew,
strangled the flowers as it's anger grew.
The lips that once so dearly kissed,
utter words of hate that cannot be dismissed.
I struggle to erase the memories spent
under starry skies whispering promises we meant.
Seasons may go as I try,
And many a nights I may cry,
Yet with strength I stand and fight,
to mend a heart that's just not right.
