If you use Twitter you can also access it on your cell phone. From basic cell phones that have text messaging capabilities to smart phones, you can use to tweet on the go.

You can keep your Twitter page updated and you can receive your friends' updates as well on most cell phones. Here are some ways to use Twitter on your cell phone. TEXT MESSAGING: If you choose to do so, you will receive friends' tweets by text message. To send a tweet within the United States, text your update to 40404. If you tweet a lot, it's best to get an unlimited text messaging plan or you will receive a very large bill for texting! If you want to receive tweets from your

followers via text message, select that option under the settings tab. Under settings is the tab "Options".

You can then choose to receive updates via text messages sent to your cell phone. You can also choose to receive them at certain hours by selecting the hours of the day you do not want to receive text message updates. (While you are sleeping is a great idea!) Use these text commands when you tweet by cell phone via text message: @username + message This directs the tweet to the person intended so that it show up in their replies tab. Example: @twitterperson I am learning to text! D username + message This sends a private message to the intended person. They can see it under their Direct Message tab. Example: D I really hate my job. WHOIS username This retrieves the profile information for any user on Twitter who does not have their updates blocked. Example: WHOIS Peter Pan PDA/Smartphone (BlackBerry or other smart phone) If you have a phone that has internet access, you can access your Twitter page by using Twitter mobile: m.twitter.com. You can also send and receive tweets via text messages as well.

There are several other options for using Twitter specifically designed for smart phones. Blackberry has an application called "Twitterberry" and there are several more available for the Blackberry. iPhone The iPhone application store has a Twitter application named Twitterfon. There are other Twitter applications for the iPhone available. Some work well and some are less highly rated. Check the options and ratings before you install the Twitter app of your choice. Tweeting on the go is easy once you get the hang of it. Your Twitter stream will stay updated wherever you go when you use Twitter on your cell phone.
