What if there was a magic pill or potion that could make you feel like superman. You would have less stress, more energy, be thin and muscular, give you a natural high and make you irresistible to the opposite sex, along with many other countless advantages. You would say; how come I have never heard of that kind of wonder drug. Why hasn't the government, drug companies and some doctors marketed this wonder pill?
The simple fact lies in that, they have not been able to put this concoction into a pill. Yet it is one of the most natural and free activities known to man. Exercise is a natural tonic created by your very own body. The benefits of this regular exercise pill include; (1) Increased circulation and improved organ function. The exercise process stimulates the process of digestion, metabolism, absorption and elimination. The increased circulation helps improve transfer of oxygen to all parts of the body including the brain.
(2) As a result of better circulation throughout the body and increased blood flow to the brain, magical hormones called endorphins are released and a general euphoria results, commonly referred to as the Runners High. This feeling results in elevated mood levels and makes you feel happy. This is a very nice natural way to even fight mild depression. The increase in blood flow leads to more oxygen and nutrients to the brain making you more alert and giving you more brain power.
(3) While exercise leads to increases in mood alternating hormones, the reverse is true for stress. Regular exercise leads to a reduction of stress related hormones, resulting in lower blood pressure, slower heart rate, and a more relaxed and laid back feeling.
(4) The increase in metabolism and the body cells ability to work more efficiently, leads to the elimination of high levels of blood sugar, which can help prevent many diseases including diabetes.
(5) Improved muscle tone is also a result of regular exercise which in turn creates an increase in the metabolic process, which means the more muscle mass you have the more calories you will burn. This brings up a key point; men have more muscle mass so it is usually easier for them to lose weight than women. Regular exercise also leads to stronger bones. Weight loss is another benefit as you body burns the stored body fat.
(6) One last thing exercise seems to do is boost the immune system, so your body is less susceptible to colds and flu.
The most important thing is to exercise regularly while eating a balanced diet. Also give your body enough rest to allow your body a recovery period. Now I will have to give a warning to this prescription; as you will begin to feel like superman, have much more confidence and be extremely attractive to the opposite sex. So do so in moderation.
