Why do people work so hard just to stay poor?

Oh, where does one begin on this topic? If I was to look at the classifications of the reasons why people work so hard to stay poor it would become a sequence of volumes of books. So we will start with what I know and of my surroundings that I have been around all my life starting with myself. Since I was nine years old I was a go-getter who was not afraid to work. For most of my life I worked two jobs. I was striving to get to a better place that would bring me security and stability, but I was lost and confused during those times, and made wrong choices in men. I was a mule while they were tits on a boar that sucked me dry until I was spent. Thank God though I am frugal and very resourceful as well as a survivor. I have since learned my lesson. I have witnessed time and time again, countless times of individuals who purposely invest so much time and effort into staying poor. These individuals are champions of working so hard to stay poor.

The people that I know personally who champion to stay poor are bottom feeders and I will tell you why I say that. Because they brag about getting a free ride, have the audacity to cry poor mouth when they are at the end of their rope, and will put on the charm, and literally con innocent people who are sincere for their own selfish means with only one thing in mind, and that is to take advantage of them. They especially take advantage of their family. They want to be owned by the state so they can keep their welfare checks and food stamps. They don't want to work to have nice things, but they will work to stay to poor. Figure that one out? This sickens me and people like that I scrape off my shoe. They abuse the system as well as bring caring people down with them. While others who only need help for a short time until they get back on their feet appreciate the help. The champions of working so hard to stay poor are taking away from those who are legitimate and appreciate the temporary help. The champions have no desire to help themselves. They only want to keep doing what they have always done and that is to take, take, and take. Period, end of story.

Moving on, I know people who are very materialistic. They feel that the things they have define who they are. They have jobs, but spend beyond their means. It is sad because they are mostly superficial people. They are house poor. I personally do not feel sorry for them because they were being foolish. They were not wise and did not keep the principles that our grandparents and great-grandparents practiced and that was save, save, save. You don't keep all your eggs in one basket and if you can't afford it, you don't need it. I live by those principles.

Sadly, there are people around the world who work so hard to stay poor and it is not by choice. They live in rogue countries with dictators and tyrants. They are subjugated by these dictators and tyrants, slaves who feel that there is not a thing they can do. Should they rebel they put themselves in grave danger.

I know that what I have touched on is only the icing on the cake. The only thing that I know is that I have learned my lesson. I will in no way repeat the same mistakes. I will keep the principles of my ancestors because it works. I am starting over. A starving writer who is in her early beginnings, but has finally found her passion and has the freedom to pursue it. Still a go-getter who is instead working so hard at not to remain poor, but to become enriched, fulfilled, and yes, striving to get my security and stability.
