Humor: Ways to overcome a bad day

Though the whole world is enjoying the warmth and pleasure of the sun you have a dark raincloud above your head. Your blood pressure shoots and everything seems misplaced. Even the slightest noise builds petulance to a high degree. Hmm...seems familiar? Yes you guessed it right; they are all symptoms of 'a real bad day'. And sometimes we tend to surpass some of that thunder from our raincloud into others lives too. But does it have to be this way always? The answer is no. By following some simple tips we can bring in sunshine no matter how dark it gets.

Take and store in loads of positive energy and let that act as your shield to bounce off the darkness from a bad day. Do not let your spirits down by negative comments or when something does not go as planned. Keep in mind that you have the ability and strength to turn things around. Nothing is perfect so things do go wrong at times no matter how well you have planned it.

Listen to music. This helps you to relax and ease down. It has been found that soothing music can lower your breathing by lowering your heart beat which in turn reduces your stress level. Listening to music with nice beats and a happy melody can elevate your mood.

Humor is a good remedy for changing your bad mood. Read a funny book or watch a movie that's going to make you laugh out loud. Read funny quotes and lines. Have a lively chat with your friends.

Meditation in a quiet place always helps. Your body produces chemicals that help you to relax. You could also do slow and deep breathing which will calm your body down. Do not think of the negative aspects of your day. Try to focus on a positive action or just say silent prayers and hymns.

Sometimes sharing your difficulties will help lighten your burden. Even if a solution is not being offered just talking your heart out will help. A hug or a kind word will work wonders. Being around the people we love will make us realize that we have the best things in life.

If you feel snowed under the pressure and feel like crying then just do it. Crying reduces the chemicals that cause stress in our body. So don't hold back those tears thinking you will be considered weak. A good cry is good sometimes. You will feel a lot better after that.

Write about all the good and bad things that happen to you in a day. And when you are in a relaxed state of mind go through them. Try to think about solutions to things that didn't work out. You will be surprised to see how soon the bad things list reduces.

Take a walk or go to a nearby park or beach. Just admire the nature around you. See the flowers and plants dancing happily in the breeze. Or if you are by the beach listen to the songs the wave sings each time it comes near you.

Have a warm and relaxing bath in warm water. You can use aroma bath oils to further alleviate your senses. Make sure you are not disturbed.

Treat yourself to a nice and special meal in your favorite restaurant. Just don't get into the habit!

Remember that no matter how hard things are it will pass and fade away. We have the ability to control our mood and emotions. Keep a clear and steady thinking. We can't let the little things in life affect us to a point where we get hurt. So be happy, take life as it comes and do your best.
