Putting music on a Sony PSP is a very easy and quick task. All you need is a computer, PSP, a Memory Stick Pro Duo, and a mini USB cable that allows you to connect your PSP to one side and connect a computer on the other. Obviously you will need to find music in an mp3 format (the same type the IPOD uses). An mp3 can be anything from your favorite song to a stand up comedian. Just find what mp3(s) you want on your PSP and you're ready to get started!
Save all the music you want (that is small enough to fit on your memory stick) in a folder named MUSIC. Make sure it's called MUSIC and it has to have all capital letters or the whole process will not work. You then have to hook the PSP up to the computer using the mini USB cable.
*Note that you have to be in USB mode on your PSP that can be found under settings.
The computer will recognize this and will bring up a menu with several different options in a different window. Select the one that says "Open Folder to view files using Windows Explorer". Open the folder named PSP or create one called PSP with all capital letters. Open this folder by double clicking it. The computer will now display the folders that are on your PSP. Now all you have to do is drag and drop the folder you previously made that you named MUSIC into the PSP folder. You now have music on your PSP that you can listen to whenever you want.
Thanks to modern technology you can also get songs on a PSP from any CD's you would like, as long as your computer can normally play the music on the CD. Just pop the CD in the correct CD ROM and the computer will recognize it. Just upload the music to the computer and save it in the MUSIC folder inside the PSP folder. The music format might not be mp3 though. In that case just do a Google search for "free music converter" or go to www.vixy.com and upload the music to the site and follow the instructions on the site to convert to an mp3 format. Then just save it back to the correct folder.
The same can be done for pictures and videos. Videos have to be in mp4 format and saved in a folder named VIDEO in all capital letters in the PSP folder. Pictures must be in a PICTURE folder in the PSP folder.
And that's all you have to do!
