Years and years ago pornography was kept in the virtual closet, a taboo if you will. Wives would find their husbands watching dirty movies on tape or 8 mm film and be appalled by such behavior. Are men perverted because they have this intense need to leer at other couples/actors doing the deed? I say no. In fact, it can be quite healthy to partake in this extra curricular activity.

Men are a different breed. Don't get me wrong, wives do this too but the subject is men so I will stay focused on husbands. There was a time way back when in my first very young marriage when it hurt my feelings. I use to think "I'm right here!, why would a husband choose a pornographic movie over the real thing" A lot of wives take it personal but should not. When a husband watches pornography it does not mean they don't love their wife or find them unappealing, it just means they need a private release which has even been proven healthy for a marriage.

Some men consider it a daily ritual. Husbands often start off their day with this release to prepare them for the tough day ahead of them at work. If a husband is self indulging in porn several times a day, that may not be healthy and something may be wrong, like a sex addiction. The healthy ritual of which I am speaking is the normal one to three times a week. Some husbands find it more of a mechanical ritual rather than emotional, like making your first cup of coffee when you arise from sleep.

The other aspect of husbands watching pornography is the "no hassle" effect. Look at this point as you would instant coffee. You need the caffeine and boost to start off your day but you got up late and simply do not have the time to make a pot of regular coffee. It is fast, simple and does the job. No muss no fuss. This is pornography for husbands. They turn on the show, turn on themselves and five minutes later they are relaxed and have a healthy attitude to start off their day. Some husbands feel if they cannot do it right then they should take a different avenue. Pleasing a wife takes a lot longer than it does pleasing themselves.

The most popular time for most husbands is in the morning. Most wives are not up for sex in the morning. Wives either need sleep, need to get ready for work or take care of the children. The reality is, husbands are actually doing their wives a favor. So the next time you see your husband watching pornography in the morning, say "thanks, honey".
