Poetry: Summer rain

Rain Storm

Leaden skies, threat'ning clouds,
Howling winds, swirling loud.
People running clutching hats,
Children calling for their cats.

Jagged lightning tears the sky,
Angry thunder rumbles by.
Busy shoppers run for cover,
Till the sudden storm is over.

First the large, wet dropswill spatter,
Loudly falling, pitter patter.
Thirsty plants will drink again.
Swiftly, fiercly, comes the rain.
