A Cat's Life
Sometimes I wish I were a cat
So soft and warm and gloriously fat.
With nought to do but lie around all day,
Pretending I'm asleep and hearing people say,
I wish I were a cat.
But then, their life is really very brief
And slumber comes so often like a thief,
So all the things which could have been that day,
Too soon,like them,have gently slipped away.
I'm glad I'm not a cat!

Down to the floor.

I sleep, I eat, I sleep some more
I'm always watchful at the door
There isn't anything I miss
Except my empty cat food dish
