Earth's Song
Winter's Lullaby.
Dark the day, cold the night
Sharp the wind whose icy arrows pierce and bite.
Gone the soft warm waves of golden light,
Endless afternoons at summer's height.
Sleep O Earth, go quickly sons of men,
For Spring's bright beauty soon will dawn
And pass this way again.
Spring's Joy.
Crisp nights, warm days
Buds awaken, squirrels play.
Soon the snow and ice will change
To warmer breezes, flowers arranged
In window box and old clay pots,
And mothers start to tell their tots
That summer will be here before
You hear her knocking at your door.
Rejoice o Earth! It's Spring!
Fall's Farewell.
Muted sunlight, shadows lengthen,
Leaves are turning, softly falling.
Soon the glorious full blown garden
Fades as cooler days come calling.
Firelit evenings, turkey platters,
Indoor games and children's chatter.
Busy squirrels, passing geese.
Goodnight Earth. Sleep in peace
Summer's Soliloquy.
finale to earth's song
Roses bloom in gay abandon,
Perfumed, heady, gowns ablaze.
Crickets chirping, birds are singing,
Dogs lie sleeping 'neath the haze.
Branches groan beneath their splendor,
Lush and verdant at their prime
Some with fronds still young and tender,
Buds unveiling in their time.
Azure skies stretch high before us,
Molten sun beats down below.
Earth's triumphant final chorus,
Bathed in Summer's golden glow.

Apollo, how you drive your chariot across the sky
That blazes with the Summer's sun
And nurtures life for all that run

Nature's seasons are four in all,
Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall.
Varied, exciting colorful and real,
nature's seasons
Nature's seasons
Winter, cold, icy, full of snow
Toddy for the body, don't you know
Just a wee bit of Irish Whiskey
To keep

SPRING creeps up slowly, then bursts forth in glory,
Nurtures new life and rejuvenates old.
SUMMER is lazy, days hot and hazy,
Heat
Seasons
The turning leaves float on the breeze
Among the changing colors of the trees
The autumn sky goes on and on
Fallen leaves
