Everyone has a body part that they just don't love. For many women that less than great asset is a stomach that sticks out either a little bit, or maybe a lot. If you want to hide that extra tummy weight, you can do it by wearing the right clothes.
To take attention away from your stomach, you'll have to understand your body shape and how to best camouflage your mid-section. When you have a large tummy, your clothes need to be fitted for you.
Check out the hemline of your dress or skirt when you have it on. Does the front tend to be higher than the hemline in the back? That's always a dead giveaway that your stomach is not being your best friend. Be sure to have an even hem on the clothes that you wear when you wear them.
Wear clothing that fits. Tight clothes will accentuate your mid-section. Not only do snug clothes reveal too much, they are also uncomfortable to wear as well as to look at. Conversely, clothing that is too big will not help your cause. Buy less and invest in alterations if necessary to make sure that you have well fitting clothes.
Avoid belts, banding of any kind, around the breast, waist and hip areas. They will only draw more attention to the area you want to disguise. No pleats, either.
Certain fabrics may exaggerate your stomach. Try to eliminate tight knits, sweater, clinging fabrics from your wardrobe. They add pounds to your look.
Try Spanx. Millions of women have found that Spanx, and other body-shapers, can create a firmer looking shape to your abdomen, thighs and other spots.
Straight lines work great. Keep your style, and enhance your look with uncomplicated designs. A look that flows evenly from top to bottom will carry ones eye away from your stomach area.
Keep dark colors on the bottom and light colors toward the top when selecting an outfit to wear that will conceal your stomach.
Draw attention to your best features. It could be your neckline, your legs, your bust, whatever you have that you like.
There are so many of today's styles that are perfect for hiding that tummy bump. Try wearing full tops, baby doll styles, and blouses that fit loosely over pants, and skirts. Avoid wearing blouses and shirts that require tucking.
Have the confidence to try new styles and colors. Understand your body, and look honestly into your mirror when you're trying on clothes. Reach deep within and be willing to access how you look from another perspective. Once you can do that, you'll know how to dress to suit yourself and look your best.
You can cover that stomach, look great, quit trying to suck it in. You'll find yourself breathing a whole lot easier and looking pounds slimmer!
